Refugee Union Hong Kong was founded in 2014 with visions to safeguard protection claimants’ rights and to optimise their prospects. Since our establishment, we have been working closely with our committed volunteers and organising various programmes for the sake of actualising our members’ social and psychological well-being.

DONATIONS

This month we are grateful to receive donations of toys from Ms. Dawn as children’s Christmas gifts. Thank you very much! Everyone is in ecstasy.

May we also express our sincere gratitude to Amber Foundation and the Boxes of Hope for donating us a large amount of necessities. Thank you for being so considerate to our needs.

EVENTS

On 11 November, we are honoured to have Miss Sarah giving us a special visit. Thank you for devoting time and effort to educate our children. We are so thankful, it means a lot to us.

For advocacy purposes, we have launched a series of flyers to introduce public about the current situation of forced migrants who are the asylum seekers and refugees in Hong Kong. Please feel free to share them with your friends in social media if you find the information useful.

Every Tuesday we are delighted to have a Yoga class for our members to mitigate stress and to refresh their mind.

Every Saturday we also have Dr. Terrence Shum from the Open University of Hong Kong (OpenU) teaching our members Cantonese, through strengthening language proficiency to better fit-in to the community.

Last but not least, we are glad to have a tutorial session organised by a group of passionate and committed students from the Canadian International School of Hong Kong on every Saturday, teaching children homework and assisting them in doing revision. Here we would like to grasp this chance to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our donors and volunteers for their continuous support and concern to our community.

Despite the hardship brought by current upheavals, we, as usual, serve with our initial heart and spare no pain to pursue a better society with justice and fairness to everyone, regardless of who they are and where they come from. Please stay tuned to our official website and Facebook for the latest information. For enquiry, please don’t hesitate to contact us by visiting our office or sending us an email at info@refugeeunion.org.
